VENDORS 2010

Vendors make our festival interactive and fun! We will be hosting a wide variety of retailers, nonprofits, educational institutions, health organizations, and more! Stop by and say hi to all of them!

CULTURAL EXHIBITIONS

  • INDIA – SAIKAT

    Saikat is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting Indian culture (with a focus on Bengali culture) within the local San Diego community, regardless of ethnicity and religion; to help preserve the strong cultural and social heritage of Eastern India and Bangladesh; and to foster the spirit of sharing within the local community, while reaching out when needed to the unfortunates around the world. Our charitable efforts include fund raising for the victims of natural disasters across the globe as well as joining to financial partnership to support education for needy children in rural India.
  • PHILIPPINES - House of Philippines

    The House of the Philippines is a place to learn about the history, culture and people of the Philippines. It is one of many cottages that make up the House of Pacific Relations located in Balboa Park, the cultural heart of San Diego. The mission of these Houses is to provide a cultural experience for the residents and visitors of San Diego.
  • THAILAND - Thai Community and Cultural Center of San Diego (TCCC)

    Thailand is a country of scenic diversity and ancient traditions, of tranquil temples and modern urban excitement. With and independent history going back more than seven centuries, it has managed to absorb a variety of cultural influences and blend them into something uniquely and memorably Thai.
  • CHINA - Confucius Institute at SDSU

    The Confucius Institute (CI) at San Diego State University was established in collaboration with the Office of Chinese Language International Council (Hanban). Through academic partnership with Xiamen University, the CI at SDSU aims to strengthen educational and cultural cooperation between China and the United States. By offering both on-site and online classes, while also utilizing the most advanced language teaching pedagogy and technology, the CI at SDSU aims to establish a public face and a central environment for Chinese teachers training in Southern California and Baja California and the greater San Diego region as a whole.
  • JAPAN - Japanese American Historical Society of San Diego (JAHSSD)

    The Japanese American Historical Society of San Diego is a nonprofit organization which recognizes contributions Japanese Americans have made to the region by preserving and making available artifacts, photographs, personal stories and other information chronicling their history and experiences. JAHSSD curates exhibits, assists educators, students and researchers, offers a speakers bureau, and partners with other community organizations to promote understanding of the Japanese American experience.
  • INDONESIA - Indonesian Art Center

    The Indonesian Arts Center (IAC) is committed to the preservation and education of Indonesian artistic forms found throughout the archipelago. Our goal is to create a center of cultural collaboration between Indonesia and the United States by facilitating performance and educational programs. The IAC strives to explore and expose many different Indonesian artistic and musical traditions, including the lesser known, to educate others as well as ourselves.
  • MYANMAR (Burma)

    Burma, also known as Myanmar, is home to over 50 million people. With more than 2,500 years of rich cultural history – Burma is full of many magnificent Buddhist temples, lush mountain forests, and winding rivers.
  • LAOS - Lao Community Cultural Center

    The Lao Community Cultural Center shares joys, cultural insights, memories and traditions of San Diego's fast-growing Lao community through a variety of programs conducted at various locations throughout San Diego, the largest being the annual New Year festival, held this year at the Martin Luther King Jr. Park & Recreation Center. The center is also a true resource for anyone wanting to know more about the San Diego Laotian community or the history of Laotian migration to the United States.
